How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the etrailer Steel Hitch-mounted Cargo basket on a 2022 Kia Sorento. Adding a cargo basket to your Sorento is gonna help you solve the issue of not really having a lot of cargo space, especially if you have the third role model like the one we're looking at here. When your third row is up, you practically have about a foot and a half of cargo space, so this is gonna help resolve that by getting those bigger, bulkier items out on the road with you for your journey. Our basket is constructed of powder coated steel that's gonna help protect the basket against the elements out in the real world against abrasions and just road debris. Another real cool feature with this is you're gonna get real solid tie down points for your bungee cords or if you had a cargo net, that's another option to secure everything to your basket. Flint Hill Goods Wheelchair Carrier with Ramp Review - 2022 Kia Sorento- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Hitch Mounted Wheelchair Carrier on our 2022 Kia Sorento. What sets this carrier apart from other carriers is the fact that it has the included ramp. You can deploy the ramp by removing the safety pins and retaining arms, just by pulling and removing. When you first get your ramp, it's gonna be a little tight until it kind of, just due to the powder coat. And you're gonna just use that center arm here and pull out the ramp. And from there, you're able to deploy it upward. more

Right off the bat, if you're looking for something to expand your cargo space on your Sorento, the Reese is probably one of the most popular cargo carriers here at Etrailer. That's because it creates all this space. You have five feet of length, you have a solid steel carrier, plus this fits into your two inch hitch very easily. The one downside I have for this carrier is you do have to get your own hitch pin and because it's a hitch pin, you are gonna have a bit of wobble. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2023 Kia Sorento, we're going to be checking out the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Cargo Carrier. First impressions, I think it looks pretty good actually on the back of the Sorento. You know, this is a mid-size carrier, and being that the Sorento is a mid-size SUV, kind of just makes sense you know, it doesn't look funny or way too big or too small. It's going to be a decent enough size to carry around quite a bit of extra stuff. So, if you're going on that vacation or that road trip, you need a little extra breathing room on the inside, you know, you can take some of your stuff, pile it up out here, or it'll even, you know, these come in handy whenever you carry stuff you don't really want to put inside your car, you know, coolers, you know, you're doing stuff around the house, maybe getting some bags of mulch, things like that. more

Swagman Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2020 Kia Sorento- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here at the trailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Swagman Expanse Cargo Carrier on our 2020 Kia Sorento. Cargo carrier is gonna be really nice for either hauling extra gear that you can't otherwise fit inside, or just having some messy, muddy gear out here that you don't want messing up the inside of your vehicle. It can keep that mess outside where it's a lot easier to clean up, you can spray it off with the hose and you're good to go. A couple things to think about with this is your weight capacity, it is gonna have a 400 pound weight capacity and a steel construction. The steel is black powder coated, which will help prevent rust and corrosion, but it's not totally rustproof. more

A cargo carrier, and a hitch bound one at the back, is a great way to carry some extra gear with you that maybe can't fit inside the vehicle, or maybe it's messy stuff. Things like sports equipment, hiking gear, camping gear, stuff from the beach, or maybe mulch and soil from the hardware store that you don't want to potentially spill and make a mess inside your vehicle. If you can keep that stuff out here on a cargo carrier, keep the mess outside, and then when it's all unloaded, just spray it down with a hose and you're good to go. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18152. This has a 500-lb weight capacity and works with 2" hitches. We already have it installed here, we're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, it's going to be about 13-3/4" of clearance. Overall to our vehicle we're going to have about 31-1/2" and our closest point is going to be about 6-1/2". On our Sorento we do have a single passenger side exhaust here, it comes straight out towards our carrier. Just about even there, so we're going to have about 12" between the end of our exhaust and our carrier. more

Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we've got the MaxxTow Aluminum Cargo Carrier. We're doing a test fit on it to see exactly how it fits behind the vehicle here. This cargo carrier, it's been designed for use with two inch hitches and offers a 500 pound weight capacity. It measures 21 by 48, and the part number on it is MT70422. The 500 pound weight capacity is going to come from this main steel shank that runs all the way through. Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we've gotten out the Let's Go Arrow Gear Cage and we're testing it to see how it shapes up against the back of the vehicle. This cargo carrier it's going to measure 32 inches by 48 inches. It's been designed for use with 2 inch hitches, offers a 300 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is gonna be HCR222. You see this carrier has a solid floor. That's something we don't see in a lot of carriers. I think it's nice if you're going to be transporting smaller things or things that you don't want maybe to fall through one of those openings and get scratched and stuff like that. It's got a raised edge all the way around the outside. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento C18150- Video
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we're doing a test fit on the Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier. This is designed for use on two inch hitches, has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Part number on it is CI8150. As you can see, we've got what I call a medium size expanded steel floor there, plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and through while also giving us a lot of support to keep all of our items secure while we're heading down the road. Also helping in that is going to be the raised rail, that goes all the way round the outside here. This is going to be about five and a half inches off of our platform, good front to back and side to side stability. Also, it's going to give us a lot of good connection points around here, so once our gear is on the carrier we'll be able to get it strapped down. On the back side of the carrier we've got about 13 and three quarters of an inch worth of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the Kirk 17x46 cargo carrier. They've designed it so you can use it with both the inch and a quarter or the two inch hitches. It offers a 500 pound weight capacity and its part number is C18145. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to slide it in far enough so that we get that threaded hole lined up with our hitch pinhole. We can then take our anti-rattle bolt and we'll thread that in. Once we have it hand tight we'll use our wrench to tighten it down. Tightening it down is going to take the play out of the connection point between the vehicle and the carrier. more

Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be testing the Pro Series Solo. This 30 by 47 cargo carrier has been designed for use in two inch hitches and offers a 400 pound weight capacity. It's part number is PS1040100. As it's one of the largest cargo carriers that we offer it's a good idea to have two people to get it installed into the vehicle. A strategy that I've adopted it will be to just tilt the carrier down. Get the bottom of the shank resting in the bottom of the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to lift up in the rear and push in at the same time. more

To begin our test fit well slide shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole with the pin hole thats in the carrier. Pro Series Solo Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2014 KIA Sorento, we will be test fitting the 31 by 47 Pro Series Solo cargo carrier for 2 inch hitches. With a 400 pound weight capacity, it's part number is PS1040100. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pins holes, insert our pins, and secure it with a clip. With our carrier secure, we will have about 13 inches of ground clearance at the rear. The closest point of the carrier to the back of our vehicle is about 7 3/4 of an inch. Overall, we've added about 39 1/2 inches to the length of our Sorento. The exhaust on our Sorento exists on the passenger side and it points directly out of the rear of the vehicle towards the cargo carrier. It's about 10 1/2 inches from our carrier. more

The closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is about 3-1/2 inches, and overall, we've added about 22-1/4 inches to the length of the Sorento. The exhaust on our Sorento exits on the passenger side, and it points directly out of the rear of the vehicle, towards the cargo carrier. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinhole, slide in our pin, and secure it with our clip. In this position we have about nine and a half inches of ground clearance, the closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is about two and a half inches. And overall we've added about six and a half inches to the length of our Sorento. Pulling the pin and clip at the base of our rack will allow you to fold it into its loading position. We will want to reinsert the pin and clip to secure it. In this position you will have about eleven and a half inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Rola-Dart cargo carrier for 2-inch hitches, 23 x 56, part number 59550. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier in to the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Rola-Dart cargo carrier secured to our Kia Sorento, we'll go over some clearance measurements to see how they fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, here at the rear bumper, is about 3 1/2 inches and we've added about 12 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the big red handle at the top of the platform to tilt the platform down and with the platform folded down we have about 14 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the Kia Sorento is here at the rear bumper and this distance is about 9 inches and we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Now the exhaust does exit on the passenger side of the vehicle and dose face down. Therefore, it would be all right to carry heat sensitive materials on this cargo carrier. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorrento we'll be test fitting the Curt 20 x 60 folding aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, and secure it with a pin and clip. Now that our cargo carrier is secured to our Kia Sorrento, we're ready to go over some clearance measurements. With the platform folded up we have about 9 1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, here at the rear bumper, is about 3 inches and we've added about 6 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the silver pin at the base of the carrier to fold down the platform and with the platform folded down we have about 12 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the Kia Sorrento is about 7 inches and we've added about 26 inches of overall length of our vehicle. Now the cargo door does break over the surface of the cargo carrier at about 20 inches. Therefore, carrying large items, up to 20 inches in length, you will still have full access to your cargo area. Now the exhaust on this particular model does exit the passenger side and faces downward, therefore it would be okay to carry heat sensitive materials on this cargo carrier. more

Now to begin our test fit, using the included two inch adapter, we'll slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest part of the carrier to the back of the vehicle measures two inches. The cargo carrier will add an additional twenty-two inches of overall length to the vehicle. more

Well begin our test fit by sliding the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, lining up the hitch pin holes and installing our hitch pin. We can then put the clip on the other side of the pin which will secure the cargo carrier to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and unfold the platform of our Carpod flat. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole and then secure the carrier with a standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. Now well go over a handful of clearance measurements. Weve got about 9 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. Theres about 1 inches of clearance between the closest part of the bumper and the closest part of the carrier. more
